The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB)

The Awards for Photographic Merit (APM) is a prestigious PAGB distinction available to amateur photographers who are members of clubs affiliated with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). The system recognizes five increasing levels of performance and allows successful applicants to use specific post-nominal letters.

The Five Levels of APM

• BPAGB (Basic) - Standard of "Approaching Good Club Photography".

• CPAGB (Credit) - Standard of "Good Club Photography".

• DPAGB (Distinction) - Standard of "Open Exhibition Photography".

• EPAGB (Excellence) - A mid-level standard between DPAGB and MPAGB (available only to existing DPAGB holders).

• MPAGB (Master) - Highest standard of "UK Amateur Photography". 

Key Rules & Requirements

• No Expiry: Awards are held for life without any annual renewal fee. 

• Club Membership: Applicants must be an active, paid-up member of a PAGB-affiliated club. 

• Qualifying Periods: You must be a club member for a minimum of 2 years (for BPAGB/CPAGB), 3 years (for DPAGB), and 5 years (for MPAGB) prior to applying.
