1. How did your interest in photography begin?
I started taking snap shots on a Kodak 110 film camera when I was a child. When I was 16 may Dad gave me his Konica film camera and I started using my love on natural history to take photos of wildlife. After University I didn’t really progress much with my photography until I treated myself to a new SLR around 8 years ago when I started to take a much more active interest.
2. What genres of photography are you more interested in?
I love sports photography as it gives me a challenge of capturing action and movement and also makes me think about how to capture something little different. The other area I enjoy is studio photography. I love working with people and studio photography gives me the opportunity to help my subjects feel great about themselves.
3. What has been the highlight of your photographic journey?
Listening to Franz Lanting (http://www.lanting.com/) at the photography show in Match 2017. His project ‘A journey through time’ bought me to tears.
4. Who has been an inspiration to you in your photography?
There have been a number of influences on my photography but I think the person who has made me think most about my own photography is Brian Griffin (http://www.briangriffin.co.uk/). His work uses photography as a medium to create art.
5. What are your aspirations for the future?
I would love to earn a living from photography but more importantly, I am continually looking at ways to be more creative with my photography and would love to have the time to do my own projects.
